Week 3: Thursday. Experimentation: Light Graffiti

I like how you can see some of the fireworks coming from the neighbours, at the top of the trees.
I also like the colours of the sky and backyard. It looked darker when i was taking that photo, but i guess having the slower shutter speed allowed the camera to pick up the lights shining from the house (at the back of the camera) and the fireworks that were lighting up the sky. We also live near a motorway so the lights behind the tree are from the street lights.

this was taken in front of the fence that is in front of the motorway. You can see the light from the street lights shining on the trees across the street.

*I used a tripod when taking these photos which allowed the background to look super clear. I really enjoyed making these pictures with my sister doing the actual light writing.
The slower the shutter speed the more defined the line of the light is, with the light being more soft and clear the faster the shutter speed was.
We've actually played pictionary using this light graffiti technique which is way more fun than drawing with a pen and paper.

  1. These are successful images Carol. Great timing with the fireworks in the first photo!
