Week 1, Monday. Class Task and Self Directed

CLASS TASK

Landscape with wide DOF
f/22
Shutter: 1/200
ISO: 800

*i edited this photo on Bridge, increasing the vibrancy to make the landscape look more green and more bright. I also decreased the highlighting to give the clouds more definition.

*i took these photos outside, using a white piece of cardboard to place the petals on top of. It was hard to keep the petals in place because it was windy and the petals were blown off the cardboard.
i used auto in the basic panel in bridge to brighten the photo, because the original photo was dark and didn't look as clean or neat as vanessa wu's photo.
i think if i had taken this picture in the studio it would've worked better. also if i had used more petals i could've emulated the photo more.

SELF DIRECTED

Landscape with wide DOF

f/ 22
Shutter speed: 1/25
ISO: 400
*i love the composition in this photo. I like how the shadow of the laundry that is casted on the grass creates a interesting square shape. I also like the image of the white laundry that is half seen at the top of the photo.

f/22
Shutter speed: 1/25
ISO: 640

Environmental portrait with wide DOF

f/22
Shutter: 1/60
ISO: 400
(this photo has been edited also in bridge, increasing the exposure to brighten up the picture)

f/ 22
Shutter speed: 1/40
ISO: 400

Object with wide DOF

f/22
Shutter speed: 0.3
ISO: 100

f/ 22
Shutter speed: 1/60
ISO: 400

f/13
Shutter speed: 1/320
ISO: 400
*This photo might be more successful if i used a tripod and shot the shed straight on (so that the lines of the shed are straight and don't look like they're leaning)

Object with narrow DOF
f/4.0
Shutter speed: 1/8000
ISO: 6400

f/18
Shutter speed: 1/25
ISO: 400
*I like the lighting in this shallow DOF photo and how the yellow of the daisy is emphasised more because of it.

f/4.0
Shutter speed: 1/2000
ISO: 800

Close up portrait with narrow DOF
f/4
Shutter speed: 1/500
ISO: 400

f/5
Shutter speed: 1/320
ISO: 400
* I really like this photo because of the composition and how shooting the hammock with a shallow DOF, where the hammock is clear with everything else not so much, makes the image look more interesting than using a wide DOF which would have had everything in focus.
